Flat Reed & Flat Oval Reed Splint

Rattan splints are machine-cut from the larger sizes of rattan core.
The flat reeds splints are flat on the both sides, the top being smoother
than the bottom side. The flat oval reed splints are flat on the bottom
side and oval on the top side.

Flat oval reeds in widths 3/16" - 5/8"

Flat reeds and flat oval reeds are packed in 1-pound coils.

Round reeds are the core of rattan. They are machine propelled through dies to obtain desired diameter. Round reeds are very pliable and are packed in coils of approximately one pound each. Many basket books published in Europe refer to round reed as "cane". European size designations differ from those of the United States. The MM (millimeter) (millimeter) diameters given in the our catalog will be the same of both U.S. and European reeds.

Coiled round reeds are ideal for all basketry and wicker furniture repairs.
